After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Grayswood’s seamers made early inroads on a pitch that offered plenty for the bowlers. Frensham were quickly reduced to 18-3 via a combination of excellent bowling and some poor shot-selection. Edwin Carrihill offered some resistance with the bat for Frensham, scoring a tidy 40, but Grayswood were able to complete the job, bowing Frensham out for 101 after 31 overs. Iain Jackson was the pick of the Grayswood bowlers, with figures of 4-18.
Despite some disciplined bowling, the lack of scoreboard pressure meant that Grayswood were able to take a slow and steady approach to their run chase. Frensham picked up an early wicket, but Thomas Barnado and Alex Tucker build a steady partnership and guided Grayswood to within touching distance of victory before losing Barnado for 31. Tucker finished on 39 not out, with Grayswood barely breaking a sweat.
Frensham’s next fixture is away to recently promoted Elstead.
